By zeroing in on underlying attachment needs, Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) offers a powerfully predictable process for transformational change. This workshop will show you how to confidently lead family members through distress and past injuries to create new relational patterns, stronger family bonds, and greater felt security. This training is for those working with individuals, couples, or families.
Through demonstration, video tape and practice, therapists will learn how to openly engage family members from a place of curiosity instead of it feeling like an inquisition. The global steps of EFFT will be broken down into more specific, practical micro-moves within each step to empower therapists to stay on target, remain grounded and help clients experience breakthrough, bonding moments.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this training participants will be able to:
- Use EFFT as a guide through a family’s emotional dynamics and key attachment issues
- Create new patterns of emotional healing that engage a family’s natural ability to repair
- Identify protective patterns that block individuals from vulnerability and growth
- Implement a three-stage process for achieving deeper family connections through creating new alliances, accessing vulnerabilities, and engaging new patterns of positive interaction.
