On November 7, Mabscott Elementary honored and learned from a local Veteran. Mr. Leon Roden is a 22-year Air Force Veteran with 7 deployments. He visited the school and spoke to the students about the opportunities that the armed forces provide for those who join the services. The students were allowed to ask questions and come up to try on gear. Mr. Roden focused on the job training aspect of the forces and how a person can take into civilian life when they finish serving their country. He also talked about the college benefits for those who cannot afford to go to college. He was sure to tell how his time in service changed his life for the better.
