The Project AWARE Summer Conference 2024 in Parkersburg was a big success! Educators and mental health providers from Logan, Wirt, Harrison, and Cabell counties joined forces June 24 and 25 for professional development, analyzing data, and planning for supporting their students and families in the next school year. Some sessions included Parents as Partners, Trust Inside Out, PBIS Health Check, and Data 101. The teams met with Crystal Criswell, School Mental Health Coordinator for Project AWARE through the Marshall University School Health Technical Assistance Center (MUSHTAC), Division of Community Health, School of Medicine,Division, to review and update strategic plans. There was also opportunity for our teams to collaborate and mentor each other. Fayette County AWARE Coordinator, Rhonda Chukya, shared some tips with each team for tracking and reporting data. It’s always inspiring to spend time with these dedicated groups. Presenters included WVPBIS and The Cook Center for Human Connection.
