The Project AWARE WV team will gather on July 27-28, 2022, at Oglebay Conference Center in Wheeling, WV. Team members from Cabell, Clay, Harrison, Fayette, Logan, & Wirt counties will join state partners for trainings related to the needs and requests from each county and to draft strategic plans for the 2022-2023 school year. The Project AWARE State Leadership Team and Marshall University School Health Technical Assistance Center representatives will be in attendance to support the teams and to congratulate the county team members on their many accomplishments throughout 2021-2022.
Project AWARE’s focus is to provide support to schools for developing and implementing comprehensive plans of evidence-based, culturally competent, and developmentally appropriate school and community based mental health services. Trainings will include Handle With Care, Suicide Prevention, Staff Wellness, Preventing Substance Use Disorder, the WV Tiered System of Support, and many others.
