The Wayne High School HERO program encourages students to pursue college education with a variety of outreach activities. They hosted a First Gen Day during which they worked with seniors who will be first generation college students by having them fill out and post information sheets to share their post-graduation plans. In February, HEROes made Valentine candy bags for seniors who completed their FAFSA. Last fall, they created awareness about Gear Up Facts and scholarship options by decorating the school windows. For the holidays, HEROes held a Holiday Hangout, creating ornament cookies and communicating with other schools about their efforts.
