A Suicide Awareness and Prevention Walk was held at Webster County High School on Wednesday, September 16th. September is recognized as Suicide Prevention Month, a time dedicated to increasing awareness, reducing the stigma surrounding suicide and mental health, promoting help-seeking, and reminding individuals that support and resources are available. In recognition of this important month, community partners brought students, school staff, community members, and local organizations together for a Suicide Awareness and Prevention Walk.

Several community partners supported the event, including Webster County FRN, Seneca Health Services, Camden Family Health, Webster County Board of Education, and Webster County High School. Participants walked together in support of prevention and awareness while students had opportunities to engage in prevention-focused activities, share messages of hope and encouragement, and learn about available mental health and crisis resources.

The event provided an opportunity not only to raise awareness, but also to demonstrate to students that they are surrounded by a network of schools, behavioral health providers, and community organizations committed to supporting their well-being.
