Wheeling Middle Celebrates Red Ribbon Week to Prevent Substance Use

Nov 13, 2025 | News

Wheeling Middle School ESMH proudly celebrated Red Ribbon Week, a nationwide initiative dedicated to promoting drug-free lifestyles and make healthy, responsible choices. Throughout the week, students and staff came together to show their commitment to living drug-free through a series of creative and engaging spirit days.

Each day featured a unique theme encouraging awareness of the importance of staying drug-free. From pajama day to twinning day and everything in between, students filled the halls with color, energy, and excitement as they participated in daily themes. Lainey Bartolovich, ESMH Coordinator at Youth Services System, played a major role in organizing each activity. To recognize and reward participation, prizes were distributed each day to students who went above and beyond in showing their spirit. This added an extra layer of fun and motivation, creating a positive and enthusiastic atmosphere throughout the week.

Red Ribbon Week serves as an important reminder that making healthy choices today helps build a strong and successful future.
